I have installed a Domino server and started the HTTP task. The file web.nsf also exist on the server. On the client, I have changed my browser to Notes and my server to InterNotes server on the configuration page.

When I try to access the internet, I get the error "The remote server either is not accessible or is refusing to".

This error comes up with all web sites. What can I do? The domino server has valid public IP address that connects it to the internet.

Hello,
I would open your Web Configuration Document and check the "Internet Site Access Control". Make sure that "*" is listed to allow access. If it's blank, it could be denying access.

I would also check to see if your loading Internet Configurations from Server/Internet Site documents. This is found on the Basics tab.

Hope this helps.

Rgds,

John

I have changed the "Internet Configurations from Server/Internet Site" option to Enable. I also confirmed that the "Internet Site Access Control" has "*" in its setting. But the same error still comes up "The remote server either is not accessible or is refusing to serve the document".

Please help and thanks for your help so far.

Hey,

Did you create an Internet Site document?

Rgds,

John

John, please could u just briefly give me what I have to do to site up the internet site? Is it necessary to do this to use my Domino server as the internet proxy server for my organisation?

Hello,

We have setup our Notes clients to use Notes w/ Internet Explorer, but we don't use Site Documents. The client simply uses IE and displays the Web pages in Notes. From looking at your previous emails, it sounds like your current config calls for an Internet Site document but it doesn't exist.

I would recommend opening the Domino Admin client, Help, search on Internet Site Document. This will give you the steps needed to configure the document along with best practices for securing it.

Hope this helps.

Rgds,

John
