problem accessing people and groups section of sharepoint 07

Hi all users and myself are having issues when trying to access the people and groups site within sharepoint 2007.
There are no issues accessing the main sharepoint site and everything works fine there but If you click on the "people and groups" link it will ask you for a username and password about 20 times. If you cancel it then it will still let you have access to the site but it wont show any of the user profile pictures or the company logo.

The entire sharepoint site and people and groups site have been configured to use windows and windows integrated authentication, using kerberos and basic authentication with client integration enabled.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

you should only use NTLM windows integrated, single sign on and authentication!

and then forms based authentication when you are ready to go down that rabbit whole
