Problem accessing ACCESS 97 table...

I created an Alias through BDE (MsAccess as the database driver) and selected the proper Data Source using ODBC DSN setting. My DataBase Engine Files are located on one server (IDAPI32.DLL version 5.01) and is being used by multi users and by different applications.

Now my problem is the following: I wrote a small app. using D4 to browse one table (Access 97 format). When I run it on W95 I have no problem but when I try it on W2K I receive an error message indicating that I have a Size Mismatch with one of the field.

I noticed a difference between W95 odbc driver version
(3.51.1713.00) and the one being used by W2K (4.00.5303.01) and I don't know if the W2K version is causing the problem.

Any suggestion?

Apparently, yes, your intuition is correct: Microsoft have introduced new stupid brokenness. Use the old ODBC; use the BDE Access Native driver rather than an Alias; or if you've got Delphi Enterprise, use ADO. -- Doug Burbidge mailto:doug@ultrazone.com
