Hi

I have an IBM Netfinity 7000 running SCO Openserver 5.0.5.
Just recently the system started to grind to a halt and the following message appears in /usr/adm/messages:-

CPU2: NOTICE: Sdsk: Spurious interrupt

when doing a sar -u the wio is constantly at 97%.

The machine is mainly used for running COBOL applications. At the time that these errors occur the cobol runtime sessions suddenly have a PPID of 1 any therefore cannot be killed off.
Cannot see anything that resembles this on IBM's website or on SCO's ta's.

Can anyone help me with this?

What patches are loaded? the RS505a suppliment has a fix for a simlar problem.

Is it always CPU2 that complains? How much RAM is on the system?

Is there any info in the /usr/adm/messages log?

Hi

The following patches are loaded:
rs505a
oss497b
oss600a

No, sometimes the message doesn't have a CPU2 tag against it. There is 512Mb RAM.

/usr/adm/messages log contains the following line about twice a day:-
CPU2: NOTICE: Sdsk: Spurious interrupt

Sometimes the message is as follows:-

NOTICE: Sdsk: Spurious interrupt
