Probeming Adding new Block of DIDs to Merlin Legend

Hi all,

I have a customer that just purchased a new block of 20 DIDs. The extensions are two digit. They ask me to add a DID to ext 51 so I tried to change the ext to match the last two digits of one of the new DIDs as I have in the past but this didn't work. Then I tried changing ext 51 to a 7XXX number then to the last two digits of one of the new DIDs and that didn't work. Any suggestions? I've included a copy of the config.

In looking at the EXISTING PRI Patterns, it appeares they are sending 4 digits and you are deleting 2. This raises the question, what are the 4 digits they are sending for this new block?

If it's 64xx then it shouldn't have required any programming at all. If it's something else, then we need to look at that. If, for some reason, they have started sending a different number of digits for this new group than 4, then that will hose you up big time.

Thus, find out what they are sending, 4 or what ever, and what those 4 are (for a specfic extension or two), and let us know.

Could you be out of 2 digit extension numbers as if they have one group, you have 100 numbers from 00-99. I am pretty sure you can't have a second group with 00-99. It would create a dialing conflict and the switch would not know what to do. So the thing to do is change to 3 digits on premise and have the CO send 3, delete 4. Brad

As REALFONEGUY eluded to, it may be time to bump the client up to 3 Digit extensions. I try to ALWAYS start systems with 3 digits just because 2 digits are cut off after number 67 or so.
