Probably an easy solution for this.... (FTP problem)

Well I must admit being a newbie on IRIX (6.5)
I need to transfer multiple directories containing multiple files from a networked disc that only supports http and ftp.
I can´t get the ftp client (irix standard...) to transfer directories (with files in...)
Please help me!
