Q1.
When I make privileges on a database, how do I spread these privileges to each other computer on the network for only this database.

Q2.
If I want to send a msgbox thru timer event or simply by clicking a button, how do I send it to all computers using the database.

I am running Access 97 and Windows NT. I have a dedicated server for the database.

<a href= Eclectic Page
Q1:
User & Group security information is stored in the associated workgroup file, normally called system.mdw. You associate it to a given db by joining a given system.mdw before setting object permissions.

1. The system.mdw default location is on the PC's hard drive, so copy it to the server.
2. Launch the workgroup administrator program (normally located at C:\WINNT\system32\WRKGADM.EXE) to join it.
3. Having joined this group, set the object permissions for a given db by opening that db (while still joined to the system.mdw of your choice).

If you've already set up your permissions in the db, copy the system.mdw that you were attached to to the server. Then set everyone else up to use that system.mdw. You can do this manually on each machine as described above, or you can create an icon that points to the appropriate workgroup file as it opens Access or the Access db. See VB help for how to use the /wrkgrp option under "command line", "startup command-line options".
