Is there a way to make a line appear busy when an extension is using the phone. I have an insurance company that does not want the receptionist to pick up line 066 if an agent is on the line with a customer for privacy purposes. I have looked all around and can not come up with the answer. Thanks in advance for the help.

I believe auto privacy is enabled by default. If someone is on line 66, you'd get "line busy" on other phones that tried to use that line.

That's what I thought. I will try it again but unless a phantom unchecked then rechecked the auto privacy option. Thanks for the help. Just wanted to double check and make sure that was the only spot it should be.

If under the Lines programming you set the auto privacy to (y) then no one will be able to pick up that line while the call is active. The only way they could pick it up is if the call is put on hold and it appears on multiple sets.

Hope that helps,

Eric

Thanks, I can't get it to duplicate so I can only assume it is fixed.

Are you using PRI trunks or Analog trunks?

What type of set does the receptionist have? Maybe line appearances of the trunks ~ if using Analog trunks, this may help in this situation... the receptionist can see when certain lines are being used.

Sorry Dumb question, just came back from the MICS-CICS forum... and just realized Line 66 is PRI...

My mistake!
