I have an opt. 61C and have privacy release on a dn that has several appearances. There is one location where I do not want the privacy release override to work. If in that TN's class of service, it is set to POD does that mean that they should not be able to pick up and listen on that line? Or if POA is active on the marping phone is privacy release override active on every phone that that DN appears.

after a user press the pri rel key, ALL appearences flash, the 1st user that picks up the line is added, for others to join, the original user must press the key again

if a user's phone is set to POD that user will not be able to get in on the call. MARP is Multiple Appearance Redirection Prime and, as far as I know, only applies to where the phone hunts/fna's to.

in my switch the user can get in on the call, but can not have a pri release key..

i thought the Privacy Rls. key allowed the person who had the primary DN to allow folks with POD to get on a call. Once that call ends so does the privacy override. Am I wrong John Poole? you certainly seem to know your stuff so i look forward to hearing back from you.

i only have it set up for one dept, the person on the call presses his prv rls button, if his line appears on your set, it flashes, it also flashes on all sets that have a common appearence, one person can join in, user must repeat for each user. when the call ends, the next call is pvt.. unless the person that answered presses his pvr again. all my sets have pod and a common appearence of the dept numbers.

Thank you for the information. On my system I do not use a privacy release button. In CLS I put POA on all TN's that I want to allow the privacy release on. My question is: If I allow POA on serveral TN's does that allow privacy release on all appearances where the DN appears?

Thanks for the information so far.
Susan

no, just the phones that have POA. the phones that have POD cannot get in on the call unless the person whose ext. it is presses a privacy release key, which you don't have.
