I'm working on a legend 7.0 with a mix of phones. They have MLX, ETR 18, and 8110 single line sets.
The privacy works on the MLX sets, but I can't get it working on the others. Here's what I'm trying to do. I get to the intercom dial tone and hit #31, then speaker on the etr and flash on the 8110.

If someone knows a better way, or a way that works, please let me know.

Thanks,
Chris

This is still an ongoing issue, any help would be appreciated.

You are supposed to use *31, not#31. It should work on all phones (ETR and single line). On ETR phones, press feature, then 31 to turn privacy "on". To turn it off, press feature, then *31 - or p[rogram a "privacy button" using *31.

For single line phones:
To use Privacy when you are not on a call:
1. Lift the handset.
2. To turn Privacy on, dial #31. To turn Privacy off, dial #*31.
To use Privacy when you are on a call:
1. Put the call on hold by pressing and releasing the Flash button.
For older single-line telephones, press and release the switchhook or Flash button.
2. To turn Privacy on, dial #31. To turn Privacy off, dial #*31.
3. Return to the call by again pressing and releasing the Flash button.
For older single-line telephones, press and release the switchhook or Flash button.
*Note: If Transfer has been disabled by the system manager, you cannot use Privacy when you are on a call.

Actually, * 31 is used to program a BUTTON for privacy.

# 31 is used to activate the feature "LIVE".

It sounds like your ETR and Single Line sets are set up to get dial tone on the outside lines as their first choice.

This could be the root of your problems.

That's correct. The customer wanted all the lines on the phones and didnt want to dial 9 to get out.

Is there a way around this?

Well, once you activate privacy, it is on pretty much forever.
