Priv./Pub. Received #

I'm brand new to the BCM400. I created a new phone by copying an existing extension. All seemed OK, except I found that the Priv. and Pub. Received #'s took the ones of the phone I copied. When I try to revise the programming so that the new phone shows its own extension number there, the phone I copied from switches to that other extension, too.

How do I change the Priv./Pub. Received fields of the new one without changing the copied from phone, too?

Assign a different target line number. make sure the new target line has a different pub/priv rec.

I don't even know where or how to change a target number line. They gave me next to no training before the tech left after set-up of the new office with BCM. The tech said to just pick an existing phone, hit Copy, check all the boxes and then change the name. Apparently there were some steps he neglected to tell me.

Yeah your finding out the hard way now that you should never set COPY phones that have target lines...GR8 tech...

Lines>target lines.

Thanks for the help and sorry for the late reply. Thanks to the help here I was able to track down what I was supposed to do with the target lines.
