I have a Opt 81 CS-1000 swith with 3 PRIs (2 DID Local, 1 Long distance) trunks. Every time there is a "big" event all of our trunks will lock up because users are calling family to check on there welfare. We have certain people that need to be able to make call during these events. Is there a way I can program a FFC to bumb no priority traffic off the trunks and allow these users to call out? I dont even know what to search in the manuals or even to begin with this. Thanks.

The real easy way is to order some new analog trunks, put them in a new route, add that route to the BARS Route List, set the FRL higher than the general population, and raise the NCOS of the important people. Now they can overflow to the new trunks whereas the common folk have to wait for a line. You could justify this as a "backup" to the PRIs as well.

You may have analog trunks right now - check. If they are already in the Route List, raise the FRL for that entry, and raise the NCOS of the important people.

We do have some analog trunks already but they are only for receiving emergency calls and they are usually life or death calls so those are out. Is there anyway I could maybe set aside 2 local channels and 1 long distance from the PRIs with higher FRLs or is it an all 23 have the same FRL?

BTW Great site I love it and use it everyday!!!!!!
