Prior versions of Crystal Reports pulled in May 1

Up until mid-May you could purchase several older versions of Crystal Reports - going back to v8.5. Now, nothing is available except CR 2008 and CR 2011. There was no official announcement or explanation and the only hint I have so far is that it is related to an issue with open-source software. It must be something pretty serious to merit pulling all the old products down.

Without these prior versions there would be no COM API available for developers. I have heard from 2 sources that XI will be released again pretty quickly, which will provide one COM compatible version.

Just wondered if anyone else knew more about this.
