Hi people,
I made some date catagories in the diagram like wtd wtd grouped etc. when i had run the catogories , is saw that the catagories prior 12 months and last 12 months grouped came also in my catagorie tree. Then i deleted them because there was no need for it. Now i need those catagories but i cant find them. Can please someone tell me how i can make those catagories. THX !!!

Did you delete them in transformer or from PP?

If you deleted them in Transformer you will have to re-create them.

If you did this in PP, use the top left screen (dimension & measurment screen) to find the missing period to date. It should be a subset of the date field, clicking the "+" should show it. Drag this dimesion to the main screen.

Hope this helps
Bruce

Hi Bruce thx for your tips, i deleted them in transformer, how can i re-create them, i couldn't find them in relative time tab. Thx again!!!

You have to go into the date dimension in tranformer & create the relateive time there. In the dimesion viewer click on the top date box (something like ship date, order date, invoice date etc.), and drag out to the right. This will open a "special category" box, and this is were you create the relative time. (by the way what is wtd?)

There are many options here so I suggest that you look an the pdf manual or help under "relative time categories".

For instance to make a 12 month running total:
Relative time: custom
Basic approch:N-period running total
Number of periods:12
Target period: Month
Target offset -1 (no to include this month in the calculations, 0 to include it)
Context period : year
Context offset of 0.

Cognos has many pre-defined relative time options here like ytd, ytd grouped, qtd, month-to date, last month, etc. etc. so it is a bit easier if it already done.

Good luck
Bruce
