Hello,

I would like to know whether it is possible to print at two different locations when a user launch a printout.

Actual situation is that user X launch a printout on /dev/ttya14 ( which is a serial printer configured on the Specialix IO Port ).

Desired situation is that the user X launch the printout, it goes to /dev/ttya14 AND AT THE SAME TIME, it is printed on /dev/ttya19. Do you think that this is possible ?

Thank you
Salim

I'm not sure of the timing part...one then the other.

in the /usr/spool/lp/admins/lp/interfaces/<nameofprinteronttya14> file add a line
lp -d <nameofprinteronttya1> $FILE

The drawback of this is that EVERY print job that goes to printera14 goes to printera19

If you only want this action for one user, it would also be possible to add some script logic to Stanhubble's suggestion, so that it tests the userid before submitting the job to the second printer.
