What is the best solution to get the exact copy of the printers from Server A to Server B in Citrix environment? Will PrintMig.exe help or I just need to install the print device one at a time?

TIA

If you have one of the latest flavours of Citrix then there is an automatic Printer Driver copy/Install over multiple servers. Managment Console if I remember correctly, in printers funnily enough.

19972003,
ascotta is correct.
Citrix provides a very easy way to copy print drivers across multiple Citrix servers.

Just launch the Citrix Management Console and go down to the Printer Management folder.

From here you can view a specific server (source server for print driver) and then push out the print drivers to other Citrix servers.

Pretty straight forward and saves a lot of time.
Hope that helps.

Thank you for the information, I will give a try; on the side note, after I get the printer migrated, will be better to update the drivers to the latest driver?

Thank You,

when the driver is driver is replicated over to the destination server, will I still have to install the print devices or the printer is going to show up in the printer and Fax window?

TIA

Imported network printers will replicate accross the farm. Drivers will replicate across the farm, client printers on the other hand are a different kettle of fish.

thank you, what will be the best practice of the print drivers? get the latest one from the vendor or just copy it from the other server? I was able to get the driver over to the new server, but when I try to browse the driver during the installation of the actual printer, I can't located the driver does the replication take long? 20 minutes or a few hours?

Thank You,

What I wopuld be doing is :-

Pick a server and install all the latest drivers on to it.

Then in the Management COnsole replicate the drivers to all the other servers.
Sometimes It takes a bit of time 20 mins, but make sure you refresh the Management Console, even log off and log back on again, it can take a bit of time.
