I'm creating a 3 fold brochure for my parents. When I print it out on my printer, parts of the brochure design are cut off because of the printing margins. When they take this file to the printer, will there be a problem printing? Any tips on this matter? I would like the entire area to be available for design and I'm assuming a commercial printer won't cut off parts of the brochure. Thanks for your help. I am NO expert in Pagemaker. I'm a web designer. Also is 300 dpi in the printer setup sufficient or should I have it set at 600 dpi?

Commercial printers usually print on oversize paper, and then trim it to the required size. So yes, you can design right to the edge (and preferable beyond by about 1/4"). This is termed 'bleed'.

Do you mean the target printer chosen in the document set up?
