have 3 servers running presentation server 4. - windows 2003 sp'd to latest for everything.
these are member servers in a AD native domain. i have a sql server and this is also a member an 2003 sp1 etc
the sql server is the one that is hosting the citrix web stuff.
i would prefer not to involve profiles.
basically i have published an app over the 3 servers in the farm. access is via the web site - it's host headed and ssl'd. there are about 5 or 6 sites involved and each has printers connected via jetdirect boxes. i have added these as ip ports on a few servers spread about and then imported this print server in the citrix manager and the drivers have replicated etc
i create a print policy for each site and enabled the session printers and based it on ip address. this is so that as the users move around they will only be able to see the printer for that site and then make the appropriate selection.
what i am finding is that every few days they dont get the printers. once i reboot they can. if at this stage i try to print or publish wordpad or something and map the printer it is ok.
it's like it just stops reading the policy
any thoughts or better or different ways to go .
the pc's arent in the AD domain and we dont control the pc's at some sites - hence the browser
if necessary i dont mind some kind of vbs script that maps printers based on ip
as the pc's arent in AD - i cant use a workstation gpo or that
