I've just installed Sco 5.6 and use cups. I'm able to use printers attached to windows pc's with no problem. We do have one printer attached to a domain server that was used for an old system. I need to print to a dot matix printer attached to that machine, but nothing I've tried works. Cups never seems to be able to make a connection to the server and share.

Sadly, it worked fine in visionfs on my old system.

Can this be made to work? I've told them a print server would solve the problem but so far they won't buy one.

If you install and enable the LPD print service on the Windows server (you can do this through Add/Remove Windows Components -> Other Network File and Print Services if not already present), you should then be able to add it as an LPD printer to CUPS.
