When I go to finish a drawing and print, I like to use a polygonal viewport. This makes it easier to cut out objects that I do not want to see in that particular view. It also makes it nicer to put other viewports and information in the unused space. However, sometimes when I do this it takes about a 1/2 an hour to plot. On the same drawing when I use the fit command while making my viewport instead of polygonal it prints in less than 30 seconds. What could be the problem that I am having? Is there any settings that I may have wrong? Has anyone else had this problem? I am using AutoCad Land Development Release 2i with Civil Design and survey installed as well. Any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you
Mike

Try using "wipeout" (bonus/express tools or whatever it is called now) to blank out sections instead. This can be used in paperspace to blank out title sheet text for example.

It looks like "express tools" is an add on to AutoCad. Is it something that needs to be purchased? Is there any solution to this problem that does not require another purchase.
