Printing when using CSS? 2

I never even thought of this until I tried to print a page out, and half the stuff did not appear on the page. I'm using CSS for the layout and styling of my site. For most of my sections I have background images in my css file. I also have a flash .swf as my menu. When I try to print the page, none of the background images appear, or my menu. Is there a way to print successfully while using css?

This is a browser setting - users can opt to print background colors and images if they choose.

If it is imperative that the images must appear when printed then they must appear in <img> tags. For background colors to appear, you must cheat and back the background element a button - background colors of buttons appear when printed.

I'd suggest neither of these solutions as they are not very practical. The best thing to do would be to create a seperate printing stylesheet for your page and re-arrange your page when it is printed so that it does not require the images.

Background images are just that - background. Many people will have their browsers configured not to print out background colours and images. If there's an image on your page that's important content that needs to appear when printed, put it in an <img> element.

I don't know anything about swf objects and printing, but why would you want to print out your menu anyway? It doesn't work on paper.
