Printing weird fonts/formats crashes Outlook 2000

I have a problem with users with Outlook 2000 crashing when they print an email with unconventional fonts or formatting. It appears that Outlook 97 users avoid the problem by automatically translating the fonts to more conventional ones.

Is there a way to force Outlook 2000 to convert the fonts and formatting? The only workaround seems to be copying and pasting unformatted text into Word.
