Some web pages will not print to networked HP printers from NT client computers. The job will spool endlessly and will either give a printer error, or never print at all. The solution is to install the HP Network Printer Install Wizard located at This will add a port called an HP Standard TCP/IP Port in the list of ports available. Microsoft TCP/IP Printing does not have to be installed, and the Wizard software can be uninstalled without removing the HP port. After the port is installed, it can be configured (unlike an LPR port) with the port set to RAW instead of LPR. The same thing may be able to be done to an LPR port, but it is much easier with the HP Standard TCP/IP Port. No problems have been reported in using this method, but if you experience any conficts or issues, please post them so that we may all benefit from the shared knowledge. [monkey]
