Printing Via Citrix...Help!

Hello All ~

Hope your weekend was good.

User logs on to the Citrix Web server (he/she goes to a link) & opens Outlook just fine. Then he tries to print from an opened attachment & the drop downmenu does show the supposed mapped printer which sits at his/her home. I have verified this by logging in as the user on the Citrix Server & made it the default printer. Instructed user to log off & log in again & nada. The Citrix server server shows the queue for the local printer at home & also show jobs being on queue. What is up??!

Also, if user is printing a local doc at home, shouldn't he get his local printer queue as an option as well? She/he says nothing in the printer drop down menu indication his local deskjet.

Thanks in advance ladies & gentleman,

Regards,
Angel

A couple of things might be going on with that. It looks like you obviously have checked the CCC for mapping local printers. Or you have enabled mappings for your farm via the Printer Managment applet.

It sounds like the print driver is not loaded on the server so it can't map it out. I would look in the eventvwr and look for events with the description "print". These tell you what drivers have been mapped and which ones failed to map.
Do you use roaming profiles?
There also might be an issue with an older profile being cached on the server that does not have that printer installed. The user will log in and get the older profile instead of a the latest one. If this is the case, go to the servers and delete any cached profiles and have her log in.

You might also want to fire up good old print config utility within the program files\citrix\system32 directy. This will help you see which printers are attached for that ICA session.

Hope that helps.
