Hi everyone,

We're having a problem with one machine. Everytime the user boots up his machine which has a NEC printer, the printer shoots out 3 pages of paper with a little heart printed on one corner. There's no other adverse effects on the machine. It just starts to print everytime.

Any clues?

Thanks!

Unusual character printing is generally associated with corrupt device driver.
Try to download the latest driver from the NEC web site and replace the old driver with new one.
Hope this is some help to you.

before installing the driver pls.. remove the printer driver (old one) & delete the related files if possible
then go on with installation of new driver

What is happening there is that when a PC boots up it sends
out signals to each of its ports, printer, mouse, keyboard
ect, to see if they are alive. This signal is received by the
printer through the LPT and it is interperted as a print job.
If the driver re-installiation doesn't fix it then reset the
BIOS, it should stop the problem. Jay~

If its broken, just leave it and hope someone else fixs it!
