Whenever I boot up my computer the printer always prints a page with just the number zero on it.

My PC is dual-boot with Win98 (C:) and WinXP (D:).. is it a BIOS thing or is there more to this?

Thanks...

At what stage of bootup does it print this "zero"? Immediately after POST, at the DOS level, or once you're in W98? What happens if you hit <F8> and boot to Command prompt only, do you still get it?

You don't say what make or model of printer, but maybe check for an updated printer driver? Check any settings/dip switches on the printer (if it has that facility) to ensure they're correctly set.

And more importantly, does it print a test page, and your docs ok?

It prints a test page and all documents...

It's a HP 930c linked by parallel cable. The problem happens as it's in DOS.. just before it asks which operating system that you want to select from. Is there anything in the BIOS that I can adjust?

I think the only BIOS setting that's likely to have any effect would be Parallel Port Mode. So you could try adjusting between EPP, ECP, etc. If this has no effect, you could try a different parallel port cable...
