Hi,
Basically I'm looking to create a print queue in HP-UX Unix that points to a printer setup on our windows 2000 print server. This is so I can log the volumes and costs of printing via our print audit software.
What I have attempted so far:
Created a new printer on windows server with a unix friendly name.
Added a remote printer in HP-UX via SAM with the correct remote printer and system names as defined on the print server.
When I send a text file to the printer in unix using the command lpr isunix hosts "printing the hosts file on printer isunix" the print comes through on the printer OK but I get "cat: Cannot open isunix: No such file or directory" - Also the print does not go through the spool queue in windows. If I run the command lp - d then the print job just sits in the queue on unix.
We are eunning HP-UX version B.11.00.
If anyone can offer up any assistance it would be most appreciated.
Cheers in advance.
Pete
