I just bought a DYMO label printer and am playing with the software. I like how the software formats the address labels. Does anyone know how to call the DYMO software and fill in the addresses programatically thru VFP? Or is there an easier way in VFP to print to one of these DYMO printers? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,

Can you give us some more information. Which software are you playing with? The bundled end-user software or the printer driver?

Are you looking to print programmatically from a VFP app? If so, you can do so quite easily with a suitable printer driver. You can download Dymo drivers from
There are also some third-party product that let you print labels from various file formats, and are designed specifically for the Dymo. See for example

I selected 99012 Large Addesses as my default label then created a std VFP report with a single column width of 8cm , no margin and 3cm high, print area printable page and placed my cursor fields on that space. works fine

Mike,

Yes I'm talking about the bundled software that comes with the printer. However I am going to try and format a report as Bob suggested and try it that way. We are looking for a quick solution since our old dot matrix label printer is on the fritz.

Question, how do I set the page hight down to the size of the label? Right now when I do a label its setup to do 3 to 4 per page, it still thinks its a full sheet of paper. How do I adjust that to only be the size of the label. When I go to page setup I can only adjust the left and right dimensions not the top and bottom.

We did'nt use lbx labels we used the std report generator. Open a blank new report Move the page header bar to the top, move the detail bar to 3cm move the page footer tight to the detail bar. Then select file page setup set column to 1 width to 8cm and place yr fields on the area. Click print setup and select yr Dymo then in the paper select 99012 large address (this is the size we use for standard Dymo 89x36 labels) hope this helps.

Actually I figured it out not but 2 minutes after I did that post. I am using a lbx label and its working perfectly with the DYMO printer. I am currently working on a program to call this lbx label template I have created. Thanks guys for your help.
