Printing to a CANON Image Runner from AIX 5.2

Hello,

We have installed a Cannon IR5570 printer ... I set up the printer as remote printer but when I send print to it all I get is one line the rest is blank paper. I can not find any drives for the printer .. Has anyone successfully printed to a cannon printer . If so how did you set it up ...

I use an IR5000 for months and all is ok.

Specific drivers exists for image runner series but not free for AIX.

Acualy i have configured my IR as a jetdirect printer andf it works fine.

Would you by chance be sending an ASCII file to a PostScript queue? If I remember correctly, that will give the results you had. PostScript doesn't care about newlines, to the entire job gets printed on a single line, which means all but the first line are printed outside of the printer's margins.

I could be wrong on the specifics, but given that Gloups's IR5000 works as a jetdirect I'd wager that your problem is caused by some sort of job-type/queue-type conflict.

Thanks for getting back to me .. I got it printing .. I set it as remote printer set the que to PCL emulation it working fine .....Again thanks ..
