Hi,

I'm relatively new to MS Project and I'm having trouble printing my plan.

I need to print out each of the regional workstreams individually. For example, Poland runs from now until January 2011. However, because the overall project runs from now until December 2011, I'm getting a huge amount of blank chart printed out (up to December 2011) that I don't need!

I've selected to view the tasks by filtering on Poland, but it still wants to show the entire project.

Can anyone help?

Regards,

Steve

This can be a bit finicky requiring some trial and error.

1. Filter on Poland
1.1 Note the earliest start date of a task you want to print
1.2 Note the latest finish date of a task you want to print

2. Click on File > Print
2.1 In the lower left corner locate "Timescale"
2.1.1 Start date - select the date from step 1.1
2.1.2 Finish date - select the date from step 1.2

Depending on a variety of items (number of columns you are printing, width of the columns, length of time between start and finish dates, etc.) you may have to change the paper size from Letter to Legal or you may have to change the columns you have selected or their size.

One other thing you can "play" with is the Timescale across the top of the Gantt chart.

3. Adjust the timescale display
3.1 Double-click on the "calendar" across the top of the Gantt chart.
3.2 In the pop-up change the size (it's a percentage)
3.3 Click on OK

Now we get into "lather, rinse, repeat"

Repeat step 2 above
If that's not right then repeat step 3 above and recycle back to step 2.

Many thanks PDQBach!

I'll have a play around this morning.

Regards,

Steve
