Printing Screen colors 1

Hi all
I'm not sure this is the correct forum but this problem is causing me lots of grief.
On a machine a cooleague uses to print out colored samples, the print color is not a good match to that on the screen. Is there any software/method to recalibrate the screen view to that of the print or will they always vary ?
nVidia Geforce MX440 card, 21" Cornerstone monitor and AMD 2800+ processor with 1Gb RAM.
