I am having difficulty in printing out a Pagemaker 7.0 file containing a placed pdf file to an HP5000 laser printer while using the HP PS driver as PPD.
Some placed pdf files will print out while others result in a "processing" message on the printer followed by a "Ready" message and then nothing.
The problem files will print out ok to other printers and also to the same HP5000 when I change the print driver from PS to say PCL6.
The reason I need to print out using the postscript driver is because I am outputting onto Smartplates which needs the high fuser heat setting enabled on the printer which can only be done if the PS driver is selected. I have used this system years ago without a problem. If I drag the image out of the document and replace it with text it will print out fine, so it is obvious that the problem is with the particular pdf, but exactly what it could be is eluding me.
