Printing problems

I am trying to print a pdf file which was printed from a report writer. The file looks fine on the screen but prints drastically different. On some printers the amount that was cropped is more or less and on different printers there are characters missing from words or spaces added.
The printer we would like to be printing these files on has a HP Laserjet 4050 series PCL Driver installed. Are there known problems with printing pdf and these drivers?

Please let me know if anyone could help.

Thanks

My first suspicion is that when the PDF was created, the fonts used were not embedded and if the computer trying to print that PDF doesn't have that font installed - weird things will happen like you describe. I can only suggest that the person who created the PDF recreates it and embeds the fonts used (which will make a bigger file) or they change the font to something common, like Arial or Times New Roman.
