I'm using CR7 with Oracle db.

I created a rpt that creates a new page for each group. The logic I chose is in Format Section, New Page after group footer.

When I run the report, it appears perfectly fine on the preview however when I print the report, certain pages will only print the group header and will skip over the detail and footer section.

I can not find any patterns of why this is happening.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jeff

Are the details and footers then printed on the next page, or are they dropped from the report completely?

The details and footers are dropped from the report completely.

There are many things that could be causing that, so narrowing them down is the trick.
If a group is created (since you have a header, you have a group), then there is by definition at least one record in that group.
For some reason, the record(s) are not printing in the detail. This could be because you have formatting applied to suppress them under certain conditions, or you using formulas in the detail section and those formulas are unexpectedly encountering null values. If you have a field that always has a value (ie primary key) then you could pop that into the detail section, and that way find out what records are creating this problem. By looking at the actual field values for those records, this might clarify exactly why they aren't printing.
Not much of an answer, but encountering the unexpected is something you get to expect, and finding out which records are causing the unexpected results is the best way to get to a solution. Good luck.

Thanks for your suggestions Malcolm.

So far I've determined no suppressions are in the report. I thought that I found a pattern that when the fax number field in the header of the group is null, the rpt would not print the detail however that hypothesis just got smashed.

Back to the drawing board.
In the meantime, is there a way to drill down and get a separate tab for a group if you are working in a compiled version.
