This problem started yesterday late afternoon.
The printer is lp0 connected on the parallel port.

While a big job was printing, I got an error message on the printer “Data over run”
The printer stopped printing. I then look to see if the spooler (Print queue was up) it was. I stopped and started it again – noting happens. I tried to remove the print queue and got a message device busy.I rebooted the server – still nothing happens.
I tried this command without any success:
cat /etc/hosts > /dev/lp0
The system just waits for my input – nothing happens.
I then deleted the device and first got an error “ Device is busy” and after another reboot, I managed to delete the device. I added it again and also the print queue, but still nothing prints.
I have swapped the print cable and the printer. There is no error on root’s mail.

Any ideas??
