Printing problem.

I have a HP 610CL printer, but when I send something to the printer my computer says that the printer is out of paper. It isn't. I can turn the printer off and my computer tells me the printer is not responding which I understand. But if I turn the printer back on the print job starts printing. Why doesn't it start in the first place. Help, please this is frustrating to print this way.

try cleaning the printer it sound like the printer try to pull paper but can't if that not it try change the type of port from like bi-dirctional to ecp/epp
