My friend just installed Adobe Illustrator 9.0. He is in the printing/sign-making business. He has a humongous printer - an HP Design Jet 500 42 by HP.

He can print from other graphics programs, but when he tries to print from Illustrator he gets a message that either 1) he does not have enough disk space on drive C: or
2) he does not have enough virtual memory.

He has 18 free GIGs on his C: drive.
He lets Windows manage his virtual memory
He's running a Dell Dimension Desktop - P3 700 Mhz with 256K RAM - OS is Windows ME

Any ideas as to why he's encountering this problem?

TIA
mj

Check that the PPD is set up properly and that you are spooling to disk rather than to the printer. Windows usually spools to disk by default but nothing else makes sense. BEHOLD! As Steve Jobs introduces us the latest in desk-lamp technology!
