Hi,

I am having problems with printing. The printer state shows unknown in lpstat. I get the following error

/var/spool/lpd/stat not found

all my jobs are gettin queued. i tried to cancel them but it doesnt allow me to cancel the jobs. i tried to stop and start the qdaemon but the jobs still remain there.i thought of deleting and recreating the print queue but it won't let me delete the print queue untill all the jobs are cleared.

anyone has any ideas ??

is it network or local printing?

* if local - try deleting printer and re-attach
* can you try creating after checking /var/spool/lpd/stat if it exist?

goodluck!

You didnt say whether it is local or remote? Is the stat file missing? or have
the right permissions? Is Var full? What is the exact error message....? with the
AIX numbers in front of them? like 0781-????

You will need to cancel the print jobs before you can delete the printers....
with qcan or in smit.
