Printing problem with IE5

I'm totally lost with this one. User1 gets an attachment (gif) in Outlook Express, opens it with IE5, and then prints it. The image should be one page, but comes out as two with part of the image on the second page. User1 forwards the e-mail to User2. User2 prints the image, but it comes out on one page. I then send the message to User3 and get the same result as User1. I then opened the attachment on all three machines (in IE5). 1 and 3 looked the same (the image didn't fit on the screen) and User2 fit on the screen. Why does this happen and how can I change this? This seems to be something within IE5, but I can't find a setting that would change how an image is displayed and printed from the browser. Any ideas? <p> <br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= > </a><br>I am not here.

Did you check your printer settings?&nbsp;&nbsp; Is the paper selection correct (meaning: User 1 & 3 not using envelope as default paper)?&nbsp;&nbsp; Are they ALL sending to the same printer or seperate ones? <p> <br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= > </a><br>Secrete of life: If Husband = Happy then Wife = Unhappy. I've done it different ways. Using the same printer from different computers, different printers and computers, two of the same printer from different computers, two of the same printer from one computer. <br><br>I really believe it's an IE problem (feature?). When the same document is opened on two different computers, it looks different on the screen and prints differently. Also, two of the computers have OEM installs and one I installed. One OEM and my install print 2 pages. The other prints correctly (one page).<br><br>I have searched the KB and found nothing. Maybe I'm not phrasing the question correctly. <p> <br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= > </a><br>I am not here.

In Page Setup, have you played around with the margins, to see if you can get a large area of the page to print on.&nbsp;&nbsp; You can force the gif to load in a specified area by forcing it in html, write an html page and use the following tag<br>&lt;img src=&quot;asdf.gif&quot; width =50 height=50&gt;<br>?????????<br><br>It could also be the native screen resolution of the machine, sometime that messes things up ??????<br><br><br><br> <p>ackka<br><a href=mailto:tmoses@iname.com>tmoses@iname.com</a><br><a href= my site</a><br>"Do No Harm, Leave No Tracks, Be Respectful"<br>

Thanks for all the help. This really is a strange problem; isn't it?

Yes, I did try setting the margins to a different size with no luck.

I'll try the HTML code next time I'm working with this computer.

Screen resolution? There is a difference between these PC's that would correlate with the different print outputs. But I want to say that I tested that using my laptop and the same screen resolution and it didn't work. I'll check it again anyway.

Why would resolution change the print output? It's not like it's a print screen.

If you have any other things I could try to isolate this problem, I would be gratefull.

This is definately a head scratcher. Is everyone printing from IE5 or from Outlook Express or is someone right-clicking on the gif and printing that way?

Is the &quot;Imaging&quot; driver installed? [START> PROGRAMS> ACCESSORIES> Image(the icon for the program)]??

I'll check to see if imaging is installed later today on the PC's in question.

The users open an e-mail attachment into IE by clicking it. That's about it. I've got another problem with right click printing of e-mails, but that's for a different message board!

I'll let you know how it goes.

Well, all, later that day almost turned into a month!

Anyway, I checked to see if imaging was installed and it is. Either I'm missing something very simple, or this is a very strange problem.

Any ideas now anyone? [sig]<p> <br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= > </a><br>I am not here.[/sig]

WOW, I'm at a loss. I don't usually print graphics on my system nor do I usually use OUTLOOK.

You mentioned you believed that you tried changine the screen resolution. Did it help?

Is the output problem from OUTLOOK or from other imaging software?

Anybody else want to give a gander? [sig]<p> <br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= > </a><br><b>FYI</b>...Jack <b>was</b> nimble, Jack <b>was</b> quick...until he got 3rd degree burns when his pants caught on fire.[/sig]
