We have a HP 4100 LJ printer residing on our network that we have problem printing landscape to from MS excel. When using the 'print preveiw' the layout is fine but when printing, it is printed in portrait. We have tried the latest drivers (PS,PCL5, PCL5e & PCL6).

The user can print fine to other printers of the same type and I can map the printer and print landscape. Is this a known issue with a solution....??

I have the exact same problem I have loads of 4100,4050 and some print landscape fine through excel and some dont i dunno what the reason for it is.

Sounds to me like the printer does not like the margins in the document. I have seen issues with this before in graphs from MS Excel. There is a betadriver out that fixes margin problems in MS Word, but I cannot guarantee it will work with MS Excel as well. Get it here :

Have since found out this is a known issue. The other threads I've looked suggest using the post script driver and not the pcl drivers. What I've done for a work round is to print directly to the tcp/ip port whic works but doesn't allow for any 'fancy' printing styles.
Thanks to all who contributed here and elsewhere.....
