Printing Labels Under XP 2

I have just started migrating to a new computer running under XP Professional. For years, I have easily printed mailing labels on my old-but-great Panasonic 2035 dot matrix printer using SideKick 99 6.01 on my earlier Win. 98, Rel. 2 computer.

XP will not even allow the printer driver provided for my Pansonic 2035 to load. The printer driver provided by XP does not allow for the choice of a "custom" paper (sheet) size, so I cannot print my 4" X 3" labels (which come 4 to a 4 7/8" wide X 12" long sheet) without wasting some labels each time I print.

Is there a workaround or another (or updated) printer driver available for XP so I can print my labels the way I used to do under Win 98, Rel. 2?

I've just used Google with all sorts of permutations of "Printer driver" (+) "panasonic 2035" (+) "Win XP"
but to no avail.

I presume you have been to:

Failing that it looks like a new printer and Dot Matrix Printers are not as cheap as the old inkjets...

Dear Thomas,
I see you have this thread marked so I thought I had better let you know,
I have just tried to log on to Starfish's Main Site and it seems that there is no way in to the Sidekick section so download any of the pages you can find of the Help files and save for viewing offline.
The only way of getting into the site now appears to be through the links on our FAQ page here.

I think I may have found at least a partial answer to my question.

In Windows XP, go to "Start," "Settings," "Printers and Faxes," highlight the dot-matrix printer, close the small pop-up box for that printer, click on "file" on the menu bar, and then click on "Server Properties" [I am not kidding, this is where they put it.] A pop up forms-creation box will appear.

Size the form and save it under any name you want.

Well done Thomas, I can't imagine how you found that one out.
It prepares me for a migration that I feel I will be forced into soon.

Like all solutions to difficult/seemingly impossible problems, it is based on the man being mightier than the machine!
