printing issue CE10 Product: 10.0

We are on computers running Windows XP SP2

The 2 users are using 2 different printers.

CE10 is the first version of the software to use the active X print control.

Both users could print from Enterprise before. One of the users has crystal reports 8.5v installed. Printing work from reports still.

When printing w/ CE 10, they will print on the printer icon ….the “crystal print control “ box does not show. Or much else for that matter.

I have checked the active x settings on IE6 on the pcs in question. The settings are the same as my pc. I can still print from Enterprise. Neither user has changed any of their setting for IE6.

Help!!!!!

I experienced this same problem in our environment. The issue here was a product, Cisco Secure Agent I believe, that was blocking the printer control box from running. It was viewing the control as a worm. The work around that we discovered was to disable the Agent and have the user print a report. Once the control box appears once, the Secure Agent could then be restarted and the problem is resolved. Of course, if you do not use this type of product on your network it wouldn't apply, but it did work for me.

this is an excellent point. I did find that the needed registry keys did not exist on this pc. I did find a few add ons that this user put into IE6. I took those off. I then took off all the controls on IE6 that blocked active x.

I ran a report in enterprise. I did have the print box pop up and change the registry. I reset IE6 to the defaults leaving off the addons the user installed.

I did this a localadm by the way. But, I dont think that made any difference.

thanks for all your post guys!!!
I love this site!
