Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows why print size and the actual image size in illustrator 9 differs?

For instance, I created a logo in illustrator 9 which the height of it is 1 inch (according to illustrators measurements) but when I save it as a gif file to have someone view it via email and when both of us print it, it's only 3/4 inch high. Any ideas on how to correct this so it will print the actual size of the image/logo?

Thank you for your help.

There shouldnt be anything in the print options that would do that unless you deliberatly modified it. There are however a couple of factors in AI itself that could cause this. Unfortunatly the info dialouge box is inaccurate when it comes to measuring type. If any part of your logo is still in font form (not outlined) and defines any part of the outer edge you will get a measurement thats "off". Not particularly fond of this feature myself but there is a way out. One is to of course outline the text which makes it a pain to edit later so what I do is create a square exactly the size I want my logo to be, with the box selected hit ctrl+5 to convert it into a guide so it wont get mixed up with what your doing and wont print, then resize the logo manually until your logo fits. Remember to do this in preview mode incase you have strokes on the edges of the logo.
