I have a client who is using Accpac Plus (DOS) on an XP Home system with a HP2175 USB printer. It prints fine in Windows, but when i print in dos it seems to mess up.
The machine has the printer installed locally and shared. The printer is using USB001 port to print. The client says that the setup worked before but stopped for some reason and when it did mess up, she would run the net use command and it would work.

When I run
net use lpt1: \\machine\printershare /persistent:yes the error is System Error 66 The network resource is not correct. I have confirmed the computer name and share name and they are correct.

When i run net view - i get the error There are no entries in the list.

But if i run net view \\machine the list of shares is returned.

If i run dir >> lpt1 the result is on the screen but not to the printer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Generally USB ports are not supported under DOS, but you probably know that... But why do you redirect the printjob to the LP1 (parallel) port when it`s the USB port that has to be mapped eh ?
