We have a few machines that are running Windows 2000. They also have Approach 97 on them. They run a database that is set up in Approach and when ever they go to print the number of copies is always 9999. The printer they are using is a HP Deskjet 1220.

There have been a few reports of this with that particular printer driver and no solution I know of.

See if you can get an updated driver from HP's web site.

You also could try installing it as a local printer but at the "Port" step, click Add Port and type in the share name of the network printer to point it at its queue. I say this because one person reported the problem only occurred under Terminal Services and copies defaulted to 1 when Approach was run locally.

If that fails then you can try other HP DeskJet drivers that are compatible with the 1220. You could also try installing a HP LaserJet Series II from Windows. It may not print correctly to the 1220 but it's a driver that's guaranteed to work with all versions of Approach/Windows and if copies defaults to 1, it will confirm the problem is specific to the 1220.
