PRINTING IN A TERMINAL SESSION. (NOT RELIABLE)

Is there a way to strenghten the printing in a terminal session? instead of the automated TS port that windows 2003 server gives out.
We are running a Windows 2003 server and terminal clients connect to it to run a program. the clients also print from that program locally. one month it will print fine and the next month it wont print locally.
