I've got an Option 11 VER. 1411 REL. 21 ISS 7 + . Having a bit of trouble printing out the hunt group data for the pilot number 6800. Below is the TNB for one of the sets receiving calls. The calls hit key 00-06, in that order. I've tried LD 20, PRT, GHT but get a SCH8894 error. I even tried to create a new hunt group just to see if it would let me. LD 18, NEW, GHT and got SCH8817? What gives? Hunting is clearly working, but I'm not able to print, or create a new group. It's almost like it's not available in my release. Any help would be awesome.

SCH8817 PLDN package is unequipped.

Then how is hunting currently working if the package used to create a new hunt group is unequipped? That's what I don't understand.

You probably are not using GROUP HUNT feature.

HUNT 000 <--------------- this is called a SHORT Hunt, the call hunts on the set only.... not a GROUP HUNT.

You create hunt groups in your release by simply adding DNs in order and assigning LHK, and taking MARP into consideration.

Sounds easy huh :)

Think of it this way - your hunting is already defined based on how the TN you posted is programed. You added DNs to a phone, and assigned HUNT 000 which means "up the strip" for lack of an easier term.

"Group Hunt" has been a Euro feature for a long time, but only recently released in the US. It's a simpler way to create more complex hunting arrangements than what you have.

Thanks everyone who contributed! I have one more question though. What are the drawbacks to just adding multiple MCR 4000 keys? The only one I can think of is not being able to put the call on hold and picking it up from another station. But if that functionality is not needed, is this a viable solution?

There is a big drawback to adding all of those keys as the same MCR DN.

"During the time an MCR is ringing, all appearances of that DN are busy to new callers"

So, if you had seven MCR 6800 keys, and you let a caller ring 4 times before answering, there was a 18 to 24 second period where the lines were all busy.

i use mcr's a lot but i use mcr 4700 for 3 keys then use short hunt to key 3 with a mcr 54700, if needed i can use 64700...

the only draw back is you have to cls hta hunt 000 then add a hunt target past the mcr chain...

a lot of my depts want a keysystem template... all lines on all phones... instead they get mcr's and transfer and pickup groups..

If I wanted to be able to go to a voicemail box when busy/NA would this be possible with short hunt? Since 000 need to be in the hunt field.

No,

HUNT 000
LHK 6

What would happen is the last hunt key is 6, so once you fill up all 6 keys, the phone stops hunting and the next caller gets busy.

but FDN 2204 would kick in if the person did not pickup the call by time the RING CYCLE OPTION runs out RCO 0

So hunting would only be useful to voice mail on the 7th call only...

So if a call came in on say 2201 and it was unanswered, would it get forwarded to whatever is defined in FDN?

Thanks everyone for your input! This forum has once again been extremely helpful.

I'm still having trouble getting the phone to forward to voicemail if no one answers the call. I just get a recording "Your call can not be completed at this time, try again later" Below is the TNB's for the two phones, 5400 is VM. Thanks!

Make sure that all of the Extra extensions (2101,2102) show up in Mermail or Callpilot (in the extension area) so the main line is 5400 but you need to add 2201, 2102 to the mailbox 5400 the the voice mail knows what do do with the number.
