Hi,

I consider myself as a novice to CRM as well as Goldmine. I am trying to print a report 'History & Pending w/Hist notes'. Everything is fine except the more than one history items are listed on a page and the last item is getting cut off at the end of the page. It is natural that it should continue on the next page if it doesn't fit in that page right??? but what is happening is the text doesn't appear on the next page but enough space is left on the next page before the next history item is printed as if the remaining text has gone invisible. Please help me print this report. It is very important.!! Thanks in advance

are you using the goldmine reports use using a 3rd party application such as crystal, access etc.

What version of goldmine are you using

Hi M8KWR,

Thank you very much for the response. The Version of the Goldmine is "Goldmine Sales & Marketing Front office 2000 with GoldSync version 5.00.404 April 2000".

Iam using the Gold mine reports. I dont have any other third party reporting tools available. Our database is DBASE. Iam surprised to hear that 'Access' can be used to generate Goldmine reports.

i have used access for the past 3 years with goldmine, most people do not like it, but i have found it great, but we are now moving to goldmine 6.6 with sql backend, and ar moving to crystal, which i have found can create more complex report, but access still is my favourite.

I fyou have access available then use that, you will find it better then goldmine reports.

Sorry i forgot to mention that i have had issue with the goldmine report with it not allowing you to have a lot of fields on, and not wrapping the extra fields onto the next page which is the issue that you are having.

So i would advise you to look at using a 3rd party application to solve these issues.

If you do go this route you will be suprised with the new results you will be able to achieve.

You could print automatically to PDF, to word, export to excel. Create frontend screens, to save the end user having to create complex filter for themselves to print the information they need. To indepth reports into the state of the databases etc etc etc

The notes not spanning the pages issue is basically a bug in the report engine itself. Notes fields not in DETAIL 1 sections of reports will not be able to span pages.. Unfortunately, the design of some reports preclude moving the notes to that section of the report --leaving you basically stuck. If you can't find a simpler report, you'll need to take a look at an alternate reporting solution like Stonefield Query ( I think...) or take a look at some of the embedded crystal reports that come with the SQL version -- if you have it..
