Hello,
I'm hoping that this is an easy one to solve although it seems to never be with citrix. Any way I have a user that connects through our lan to a Win2k server citrix box. the user is on win98. IThe user is using an app on the citrix box but needs to print to her local printer (lpt) any solutions. thanks so much!

One way of doing it would be to log the user onto a desktop session (as a one-off), configure the local printer using control panel, and mapping it to Local Client Network. Log the user off, go into the pub App and it should all work. As a safeguard, you might want to map her local lpt port in the login script with a net use command.

I hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

This solution worked for me. I had one user who could not print from a Citrix application. He had a network printer installed on his local machine and the Citrix server had the correct printer drivers. However, the printer would not autocreate when he connected to Citrix. Then when he tried to print, it would give the error "no default printer".All other users logging to the same workstation and the same Citrix server were working fine (printers would autocreate and print normally.)I had the user log into a Citrix desktop session (again no printer were autocreated). I then had him add the printer there manually. When he logged off and logged back on to his application through Citrix he was able to print. Thanks CitrixEngineer!

I think a auto created clientprinter is the solution for you. when the user logs on it will take its local installed printer with it.

Add printer with a driver thats known in citrix. for deskjet or officejet i use: HP Deskjet 855C
citrix will show the printer in the printerlist.
try it..

thanks every one it turned out that the autocreate workde once I loaded the 98 drivers on the w2k server. thanks again

You loaded the 98 driveres on the W2k server?

If I read you right, that's a bit of a recipe for disaster.

Since it worked, I'd guess that you needed a line in your wtsuprn.inf file to say <win98driver> = <W2kdriver>

If it works OK, then great. If you get blue screens on a periodic basis that you weren't getting before, this could be why.

I hope this is helpful. CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
