Does anyone know if it is possible to print graphics (like a company logo) within Macola? I am referring to order aknowledgements, invoices, etc.

Within Macola progression you cannot do this.

You can do it with Crystal, but crystal has a disadvantage of not being able to update your database. For example when you print a pick ticket the OEORDHDR status is changed to 4 and the picked_dt field is populated in the OEORDLIN. Crystal of course does not do this.

See thread639-436249 for a good discussion of a 3rd party tool to do this, and a lot more.

Don's correct - Crystal 8.5 and below are a 'read-only' tools. However, while it's not supported by Macola, Crystal 9 and above work with the Macola database and you can edit the SQL statement to perform updates to the database.

In addition, you can create a stored-procedure to return the data you need and perform the required updates, then you can base your report on the stored procedure.

There are also some third party printing packages, that could overlay items like your logo.We have used Reform and Flexform. Some printers even have the cability today to add a overlay to printouts printed to a given tray. I ran into this last week at a client that had a copier installed and setup as a printer on the network. I was able to print a graphics image to a pcl file, then upload it to the printer. When ever they print to tray 3 the printer automatically adds the PCL into the print stream. Was a nice feature that they were not aware of getting in advance.
Some print drivers on cheap printers support something close with the watermark feature. You can setup the print driver muliple time for the same printer with different default settings.
